Messiness.
In today's media saturated world we have created a cottage industry all around the messes that people make. Hollywood created television shows around the messes of people's lives. Careers have been spawned around the concept of helping people get out from under their messiness.
It clutters our life. It affects our brains. It soils our very existence.
So in the midst of the messiness of our life, where is the church?
Unfortunately the church has often been guilty of going to one of two extremes: ignoring people's messiness or condemning it.
But what should a church's take be on the messiness of a persons life. With regard to personal, relational, and spiritual messiness (ie...sin and junk) we all need to understand that everyone...EVERYONE...is messy. so let's give grace and love and learn from each other and the Bible.
Believe it or not, there are very messy people in the Bible and very messy churches in the Bible.
As we begin the new year and leave a messy 2011 behind, we are going to be reading through 1 Corinthians together at our gatherings and discovering what a messed up church it was.
And we will strive to discover just what it is that God said to them about the messiness of their lives.
Come and join in the discussion with us at our Sunday gatherings!
